Advantages and disadvantages of several spheroidizing methods
in the production of ductile iron.
Pressure plus magnesium method
The advantage is that when pure magnesium
is used for spheroidizing treatment,
the absorption rate of magnesium is high,
up to 70% to 80%,
and there is no smoke and dust during the treatment process,
and the working environment is good.
The disadvantage is that the processing equipment requirements
and costs are high;
the operation is complicated and strict;
the processing time is long, and the molten iron is cooled more;
the pressure during the spheroidizing process is high,
and industrial accidents are prone to occur.
Intrusion method
This is the most widely used spheroidizing treatment method
at home and abroad.
The advantage is that the treatment method
and equipment are simple, easy to operate,
have greater flexibility in production,
and the required technical content is also low,
but the disadvantage is that the magnesium light
and smoke pollution in the spheroidization process are serious;
Absorption is low.
Subcontracting
The method uses pure magnesium as a nodularizing agent,
and is suitable for treating molten iron with high sulfur content.
It can better separate impurities such as magnesium sulfide
and magnesium silicate from the molten iron,
and the reaction between magnesium and molten iron is not very violent.
The molten iron has less cooling and is safe to use,
and the absorption rate of magnesium can reach 60% to 80%.
The disadvantage is that it is easy to produce
large magnesia and soot during the spheroidization process,
and the small holes of the reaction chamber in the subcontract
are easily blocked by molten iron or slag,
and it is troublesome to clean and maintain the size of the small holes.
It is difficult to process molten iron continuously.
