What technological measures are not recommended to use?
1、the waste of raw and auxiliary materials
caused by the extensive inoculant addition method is very serious.
Simply adopt the method of flushing into the bag,
throw the inoculant to the bottom of the bag,
and the slag in the furnace is not cleaned up when the water is discharged,
and the loss of the inoculant is more than 20%.
2、 the temperature of molten iron is not well controlled,
and in the case of inoculant particle size mismatch,
the inoculant is not completely dissolved.
Defects such as slag inclusion caused by large pieces of
unmelted inoculant have been found many times at the production site.
3、The large dose of inoculation will lead to the reduction of
graphite precipitation during the solidification process,
and the coarsening of the A-type graphite flakes.
The increase of ferrite and the decrease of pearlite content
are not the best choice for ordinary gray cast iron.
If the inoculation amount is too large,
the number of eutectic groups will increase and
the tendency of shrinkage will increase.
Although the structure is refined and the performance is improved,
the density is low and the penetration resistance is reduced.
It is not recommended to inoculate excessively for pressure-resistant parts.
Excessive inoculation of ductile iron with hypereutectic composition
increases the risk of graphite flotation.
