Advantages of silicon strontium inoculant: cast iron is an iron-carbon alloy with a carbon content of more than 2.1%, gray cast iron is a kind of cast iron, the graphite in gray cast iron is lamellar, and the fracture is dark gray. The main components of gray cast iron are iron, carbon, silicon, manganese, sulfur, and phosphorus. Gray cast iron has low cost and good casting performance and use performance. Therefore, gray cast iron is an important and commonly used structural material in modern machine manufacturing and is the most widely used. The output of cast iron accounts for more than 80% of the total output of cast iron. With the development of industrial technology, the requirements for the mechanical properties of cast iron are becoming higher and higher. There are mainly the following ways to improve the mechanical properties of cast iron materials: changing the carbon equivalent of cast iron; inoculating treatment with silicon strontium inoculant; heat treatment; alloying treatment. Among them, inoculation treatment is a simple, economical and effective method. The role of inoculation treatment is to change the solidification conditions of cast iron eutectic crystals, to eliminate white mouth, promote graphitization, refine grains, and improve the uniformity of the structure, thereby improving the mechanical propertes and processing properties of cast iron.
