Q: What are the common nodularizers?
 Nodulizers mainly include magnesium-silicon alloys,
rare-earth magnesium-silicon alloys, calcium-based alloys,
nickel-magnesium alloys, pure magnesium alloys,
and rare-earth alloys.
Among them, rare earth magnesium ferrosilicon alloys are widely used.
Calcium magnesium nodularizers are mainly produced and applied in Japan.
Such alloys have a small tendency to white mouth,
but require high processing temperature
and large amount of slag after processing.
In addition to ferrosilicon rare earth magnesium spheroidizers,
we also commonly include briquette spheroidizers,
core wire spheroidizers, and powder spheroidizers.
Today we will talk about these common spheroidizers.
Briquetting spheroidizer:
It is directly press-molded with magnesium powder
and iron powder and the designed silicon content.
This spheroidizer contains very little silicon and
is usually called a low-silicon briquette spheroidizer.
The inoculation of the alloy provides a large margin,
which is conducive to the production of as-cast ductile iron,
but this alloy is easy to float,
and the treatment effect fluctuates greatly.
Core-coated nodularizing agent:
Coating magnesium powder and iron powder
in thin steel plate or steel plate,
and quickly feeding it into molten iron to achieve the purpose of spheroidizing.
The alloy has a high absorption rate,
so the overall cost of handling the ductile iron is hardly increased.
Powder spheroidizing agent:
This spheroidizing agent is a Russian patent.
When using, the magnesium powder and
inhibitor are mixed into the bag,
and the molten iron flows over the surface of the alloy,
and the spheroidizing effect is
achieved by layer-by-layer reflection with the alloy.
This specialized process is called MC.
